Ancient wisdom

An old habit in a new design

Tongue cleaning is no new invention. Yet in Denmark it is still the step in oral hygiene that most people skip.

Modern science says the same …”

Wisdom

Nothing new

For millions of people in Europe and Asia, tongue cleaning is nothing new. Historically, it can be traced all the way back to early Asian cultures and the Roman Empire, and in many Asian countries tongue cleaning is still as much an everyday hygiene routine as brushing your teeth.

The practice is now becoming widely accepted in our modern, hygiene-conscious culture. More and more studies support the benefits of tongue cleaning, and more and more dentists recommend it. Tongue cleaning is well on its way to becoming as common a part of oral hygiene as brushing and flossing are today.

    European toilet sets

In Europe, elegant tongue cleaners of silver, ivory and tortoiseshell belonged in many toilet sets, side by side with the comb and toothbrush.
